Esther POTIER
Position: Senior Researcher, CR2
Administrative attachment: CNRS

Research interests
During the last decade my work focused on improving the protocols of tissue engineering for bone and cartilage regeneration.  My present and future research focuses on the field of intervertebral disc repair. I find this field of research attracting as it represents a true challenge for cell based therapies due to the unique nature of the disc and it is still a pioneering field of research as a lot still needs to be discovered on disc degeneration and regeneration.

Research projects
Enhancing MSC survival and functions in an ischemic environment
Evaluating the effects of scaffold macro-architecture on MSC
Intervertebral disc metabolism and regeneration

Skills
•  Intervertebral disc, bone, and cartilage biology and regeneration
•  Ethics and small animal experimentation
 • Primary cell isolation and culture
 • Molecular biology
 • Webmaster
